Brad-

Do you have access to wiring diagrams for my 00 outback to hook up a line-out converter. I want to retain factory sound system as it sounds pretty good with premium sound

While I don't have a diagram, I did use one of those devices a long while back in one of my old Chryslers. Basically it taps into the rear speaker outputs of the radio. The way I did it (this was on an old Caravan with the Infinity sound system) was cut the plug(s) off of a car in the junkyard and use an aftermarket radio harness adaptor to add in the line out converter without cutting into the factory wiring. If you want it, I do have a factory plug here from a Subaru that you can have if you want to get an adaptor and not cut into the wiring.

Well, if ya buy the aftermarket adaptor and use it with the factory plug I got that'll make it pretty straightforward to what does what.

that's pretty much what i found.. only problem with line out convertors is they make "sweet noises" and sometimes make everything sound like it's on a rf modulator.

if going line convertor, then this is what I would buy...  Stinger makes the best wiring items EVER for your car.  It's slightly more expensive but the price is worth it in my opinion.

This is the best bet because it has a remote turn on built into the unit which  makes wiring a breeze.  Here it is......
